Egypt's youth revolution coalitions will protest in Cairo's Tahrir Square on Friday, September 9 to correct the path of the revolution. The coalitions participating in the demonstration include the April 6 Movement, supporters of presidential candidate Mohamed el-Baradei and the Freedom and Justice, al-Karama, al-Tagammu, and Democratic Front parties. The ‘Friday of Path Correction' aims to immediately stop military trails for civilians and determine a timetable for Egypt's ruling military council to hand over the management of Egyptian affairs to a civilian authority after six months, as promised before. They also aim to cancel the “suppressive” law that criminalizes protests and strikes. Friday of Path Correction also aims to amend the election law. They said if the law is not changed, the next elections will be a repeat of the previous forged People's Assembly elections, which enabled those with financial influence and tribal ties to control the assembly. The coalitions also called to taking crucial action to restore security in Egypt, eliminate thuggery, activate minimum and maximum salaries, and activate the necessary laws to apply political isolation to leaders and figures of the dissolved formerly-ruling National Democratic Party. The revolutionary youth congratulated Egypt for Eid el-Fitr, the feast which follows the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, and Libyans for their recent victory. They asked Syrians to continue their struggle to bring down the killer Bashar al-Assad and his regime in the year of Arab world liberty, with its people seeking and fighting for freedom.
