The selling activities of foreign and Egyptian investors lead the main stock index to fall at the beginning of dealings on Sunday, the first of this week's sessions. This led to the decline in the number of blue chip stocks, including shares of Citadel, the commercial International Bank and Hermes. Most Arab investors preferred to buy this morning. The main stock index, EG X30 declined by 0.23 percent, while the index of medium and small companies EG X70 declined by 0.52 percent and the index EG X100 declined by 0.22 percent. Dealings reached 18.5 million EGP (U.S. $) at the time this report as written. A number of shares had a major decline including Citadel by 9.7 percent, the Commercial International Bank's shares by 0.18 percent, and Hermes by 0.49 percent. The Sinai Cement shares rose by 0.53 percent and Mobinil's shares by 0.80 percent.
