CAIRO: The Egyptian charity “Resala” launched a campaign for Eid el-Fitr, aiming to provide clothes for 2 million poor Egyptians. The campaign, entitled “Their Happiness of Eid,” will distribute clothes to needy families on August 29 at youth centers in Cairo and Giza neighborhoods al-Motamidia, Tawabiq Faisal, al-Wayly, west Helwan, and Maadi. Eid el-Fitr is a three-day Muslim holiday marking the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. The campaign aims to collect used clothes from Resala's branches across Egypt. After clothes are sorted, cleaned, and packed, they will be distributed to the needy that will each choose three pieces of clothes.
