A number of 39 Egyptian Human Rights organizations filed a complaint to the UN about how government action curtails the work of civil society organizations. The complaint was sent to the special commission on the right of peaceful assembly and freedom of creating organizations at the UN and the special commission of the Human Rights and the African Commission on Human and People's Rights. In related news, civil society organizations held a press conference on Wednesday, August 24 to announce its position on the campaign waged by the government and review complaints to the UN.
