A number of Salafi activists rallied in front of Al-Nour mosque and protested against the document of constitutional principles. The demonstrations were organized by the Salafi front in eight different governorates in Egypt. The demonstrators expressed their refusal of circumventing people's will. They chanted, "We are the majority, no above-constitutional principles" and "We will not allow the minority to control people's will." They also demanded to implement the Islamic Sharia Law. One of the Salafi leaders, Ashraf Abdel Moniem, said only the people can write their constitution by choosing their representatives during the next parliamentary elections. He said the Salafi front strongly refuses any document of constitutional principles. He added people want to implement the Islamic Sharia Law in ruling Egypt, and no one can impede the freedom of the people. Salafi activists started a campaign of petition to collect signatures refusing the above-constitutional principles.
