CAIRO: Egyptian Shiite activist Taher al-Shimy today criticized the media for neglecting to mention to birthday of Imam Hasan Ibn Ali, the grandson of Prophet Mohammad. “Egyptian Shiites will celebrate this event in their homes, but a minority of them will celebrate in mosques,” said Al-Shimy. “Imam Hasan is a man of peace whose blood prevents infighting among the Muslims,” al-Shimy said in a statement, adding that Ali went on a pilgrimage more than 20 times on foot. The Prophet Muhammad described Ali as "the master,” according to al-Shimy.
