CAIRO: Egyptian Salafis threatened to stage a million-man demonstration in all Egyptian governorates if the so-called supra-constitutional principles – to be announced on August 15, as announced by Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister Ali al-Selmy – are passed. Islamist will not accept the principles and will protest using all means, said Khaled Said, Salafi Front spokesman. The Salafis, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Legitimate Authority for Rights and Reform will negotiate to find a way around the principles, Said said. Said condemned this Friday's demonstration titled, “Friday of Loving Egypt,” which will be held by many political parties in cooperation with the Sufis. The demonstration will be a failure as one of its organizers is Alaa Abu el-Azaim, who does not represent the Sufi order, Said added. Said accused Abu al-Azaim of being Shiite and representing a threat to moderate Sufism.
