Egyptian Minister of Finance, Hazem al-Beblawy, said achieving social justice is one of Egypt's main priorities during the current stage to ensure the growth of different economic sectors. During his meeting with representative of the EU in the Middle East, Bernardino Leon, al-Beblawy said there are indications reflecting the recovery of the Egyptian economy. Egyptian exports increased by 30 percent, compared statistics in 2010, while hotel occupancy in Sharm el-Shiekh reached 80 percent. Al-Beblawy stressed the Egyptian economy is able to restore increasing economic growth, clarifying the government is keen to achieve a balanced economic development all of society can benefit. Bernardino Leon said the EU will activate the neighborhood agreement to increase its assistance to Egypt. He pointed out the EU will form a committee to include Egyptian ministries in addition to representatives of international organizations, such as European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Development, the International Bank and the International Monetary Fund. The committee will discuss ways and mechanisms to help Egypt and support social, economic and political reform. He added the EU is interested in supporting projects and direct investments, which provide more job opportunities. He said the EU will organize a workshop, in coordination with Egypt's private sector, to develop training and knowledge of what the Egyptian market needs. He added Egypt is central in the Middle East and a model of political reform.
