CAIRO: Al-Tagammu Party decided to withdraw from the Democratic Coalition for Egypt, stressing the Freedom and Justice Party should first apologize for what took place in Tahrir Square on July 29. The vice president of Al-Tagammu Party, Samir Fayad, said what happened in Tahrir during the demonstrations on July 29 contributes to increase a split in Egypt. This contradicts with the objective raised before the demonstrations to unify Egyptians. Fayad discussed his criticism of the situation to other members of the coalition, adding there is a need for strict action against the Freedom and Justice Party, which violated the promises it took before the demonstrations. On the other hand, the Democratic Coalition for Egypt held a meeting on Sunday, attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Ali al-Salmy. Al-Salmy said he attended the meeting to prove the government's desire to contact with different political parties, seeking to achieve accordance about the above-constitutional principles. He added there will be a meeting to gather Egypt's ruling military council, the government and different political powers to discuss the demands of the political parties.
