CAIRO: Some of Egypt's political forces and coalitions are looking for another place to hold demonstrations instead of Tahrir Square, on a suggestion from Egypt's Sufi sect. The Egyptian army are not allowing any protests, demonstrations or celebrations in Tahrir, the epicenter of Egypt's January uprising that overthrew the country's formerly ruling regime. This Friday's demonstration will be called, ‘For Egypt's Love' and is considered a response to the July 29 protests, according to Sufis. Despite an agreement between secular and Islamists powers to coexist in Tahrir for the July 29 demonstration, Islamist groups vocally called for creation of an Islamic state in Egypt. Abdeen Square or the Cairo Conference Hall have been suggested as a new location. Sufis are discussing with the ruling military council to get permission to demonstrate in Tahrir. Sufi chanter Yassen Tohami will participate in the demonstration.
