Security forces claim they received orders from the Minister's Council to disband the Labor Union and refused entry of the board of directors. After this decision and action, all of the members of the board of directors resigned. It demanded the public syndicates of the union to choose a delegate to represent them in the new board. The disbanded board held an emergency general assembly in Galaa Street in front of the Union building, which caused terrible traffic jams. A security officer said the employees are banned from enter the Union building, according to the decisions of the Ministers of Manpower and Interior. A member of the disbanded Board, Abdel Rahman Kheir, said the emergency general assembly decided not to recognize Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf's decisions. These decisions include condemning the Ministry of Interior to prevent entry for employees and choosing a committee of the current syndicates to direct the Union until the syndicates' elections. Kheir said the committee decided to recourse to the Egyptian Judiciary to defend its rights. He added the committee will inform all international organizations with the government's position against the syndicate's organization. Members of the Union accused the Minister of Manpower of normalizing with Israel and following American orders.
