CAIRO: Egypt's three stock market indexes rose notably in morning transactions today, the last day of the trading week. The stock market reached its lowest levels in yesterday's transactions, but was pushed up today with increased foreign purchases from the beginning of the session. The main stock index EGX 30 rose 1.2 percent, the medium and small companies' index EGX 70 rose 0.67 percent, and the index EGX 100 rose 0.72 percent. Total transactions reached 171.3 million EGP (U.S. $28.7 million). Some of the main index shares dramatically rose today, particularly Ezz Steel shares up 0.67 percent, Orascom for construction rose 1.4 percent, El Qalaa shares rose 3.2 percent, Palm Hills shares rose 2.4 percent, Tallat Mostafa shares rose 3.5 percent, Agwaa shares rose 2.01 percent, Hermis shares rose 2.1 percent and Orascom Telecom shares rose 2.2 percent.
