Neighboring states' quest to undermining Egypt's revolution, experts say

CAIRO: Egypt currently suffers from chaos, conflicts and explosions. If such a state of insecurity continued, Egypt would be destabilized. Many experts suggested foreign elements and members of the dissolved National Democratic Party (NDP) are working to increase instability in Egypt.
Head of the international relations unit of the center of strategic and political studies, Dr. Emad Gad, said there are neighboring countries working to destabilize Egypt. The state of instability serves the neighboring countries' interests, including Israel and other Arab countries.
Gad added Israel seized the opportunity to announce Egypt can't protect its gas pipelines, so Israel called for international interference to protect its interests. There are also demands rising recently in Israel to re-occupy Sinai, Gad added.
Gad said there are many Arab countries hoping for the failure of the Egyptian January 25 Revolution. Especially since the Egyptian revolution inspired other revolutions in Yemen, Syria and Libya and so the leaders of many Arab countries fear uprising in their countries as it has in Egypt.
He said the gas pipeline explosions in Arish recently were planed, preliminary indications stressing such actions were adopted by extremist groups because they were against gas export to Israel.
About the clashes recently all over Cairo, Gad blamed insecurity and inability to control such situations. Such accidents rules out relations between the accidents and the remnants of the dissolved NDP.
Egyptian security expert, Fouad Alam, said the Arish's accident assured there is an organization targeting Egypt in its sensitive places. He warned of the organization, which managed to breach Egyptian security through their strength and weapons.
Alam added internal clashes and arguments erupting internally is a result of lack of the security measures taken against violators. He should take into account there are other countries working to destabilize Egypt.
A professor of political science, Dr. Alaa abdel-Hafiz, said members of the dissolved NDP triggered clashes and instability in Egypt recently to distract Egyptian citizens from Mubarak's trial and other figures of the former regime.
Abdel Hafiz continued about how the consecutive explosions of the gas pipeline aimed to deteriorate relations between Egypt and Hamas, especially since their relations strongly improved after the January 25 Revolution.
Abdel Hafiz added along with Gulf states, Israel quests to undermine the establishment of a democratic regime since it would politically threaten them. He added the Gulf states aren't offer aids to Egypt, waiting to see how the current or future Egyptian regime will support the Gulf states.
