An official of Hamas government's Ministry of Interior and controls the Gaza Strip said the ministry began to implement a plan to control Egyptian borders. Within the last few days, the ministry sent dozens of soldiers to prevent border operations and closed some of the tunnels operating illegally. An official at the Ministry of Interior of Gaza Strip said the plan included an establishment of sand banks near the border and installing barbed wire columns to block illegal tunnels and prevent smuggling any prohibited goods. There are plans also to identify pathways and routes of entry and exit of smuggling. The official made this special statement to the Middle East News Agency in Gaza Today on Sunday. The spokesman of the Ministry of Interior of Gaza said all the tunnels on the border between Egypt and Gaza will be blocked in the operation of the Rafah border-crossing card in full. The hundreds of tunnels for smuggling spread along the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt to smuggle goods into the besieged Gaza Strip, which was closed off by Israeli authorities five years ago until recently.
