CAIRO: A group of independents in Tahrir Square said they will hold a cultural salon to discuss all political, social and economic trends of the January 25 Revolution. Every day during Ramadan, the salon will host a prominent figure, such as Dr. Waheed Abdel Maged, a deputy in the Strategeic Studies Center, or Dr. Ahmed Sayed Nagar, a strategic expert. Ramadan, which begins tomorrow, is the Islamic holy month in which Muslims fast from dawn to dusk. The salon began its activities last Friday. It discusses issues such as the demands of the January 25 Revolution and the importance of protesting. Many political trends attended the salon. The salon will act as a cultural bridge. It is the suitable response for the claims that protestors in Tahrir Square do not have specific goals, said Kasem Ali, a member of the April 6 Youth movement and a salon participant.
