CAIRO: Sufi pathways organized a parade yesterday to celebrate the sight of Ramadan's Helal, the first sighting of the crescent moon that announces the beginning of Islamic month of Ramadan. Many Sufis organized a parade from Gaafari mosque to Hussein mosque. The parade this year had a weak participation from the Sufis, especially from the major Sufi pathway al-Rifa'I, considered as one of the biggest Sufi pathways with many followers. The parade witnessed the attendance of six Sufi different pathways only while the other four Sufi pathways were staging a sit-in in the sheikdom and couldn't attend the parade. “Every Egyptian should work to enhance the wheel of production and every Egyptian must work for Egypt's interest,” said the grand sheikh of Sufism, Abdel Hady el-Kasby. He greeted the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces and Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf along with greeting the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed al-Tayeb, and all Egyptians in Egypt and abroad.
