A Fayoum family attacked a 16-year-old young man yesterday, stabbing him in the stomach and amputating his penis. The incident, reported as number 2187 (2011), was a response to an alleged premarital affair with a daughter in the family. The prosecutor will handle the ensuing investigation. Gen. Maj. Salah el-Azizy, head of Fayoum security, received notification from Gen. Brig. Ashraf el-Khalawy, sheriff of Youssif el-Sdeek police station, informing him of the injuries sustained by Mohamed A.M., the young man in question. The father of the injured boy, both from Kasr el-Geblay village, also received a cut on the hand during the incident. An investigation by Lt. Col. Ahmed Habib, chief of Youssif el-Sdeek state security, said the family attacked the two men because Mohamed was allegedly having a premarital affair with 16-year-old Fatma, an unwed daughter in the family. The prosecutor investigating the case ordered arrest warrants for the perpetrators of the attack.
