SUEZ, Egypt: Ahmed al-Manakhly, the director of moves of the Suez Canal Authority, said the sinking of the floating dock of the Suez Shipyard company was due to technical reasons. He told Youm7 that the authority is dealing with how to restore the dock, adding that the incident hasn't led to causalities or affected the maritime traffic in the Suez Canal. He said the authority managed to save five ships that were conducting maintenance in the floating dock, which was destroyed early on Tuesday. According to a press statement issued by the press and media administration, the authority is preparing to re-float the dock.
