The court committee concerned with the death of Khaled Said demanded that a new forensic report be prepared, according to an official source. A new committee will be formed and will include three professors from Ain Shams, Cairo and Alexandria universities as well as a professor from the fine arts faculty to illustrate the proceedings. The committee wil be headed by the current chairman of the forensic medicine department, according to the source. The committee will rewrite a report to illustrate the cause of death. It will not be bound by the previous report, which was written under the supervision of the former chairman of forensic medicine, Ahmed el-Sebaay. Sebaay drew the anger of Egyptians on the street during his period as chair, the source told Youm7. The source also said that the fine arts professor will attend to check the illustrations and photographs of the body. It added that the court served a warrant to the forensic medicine department to inform it to prepare the new report as soon as possible. Said's case was under adjudication for 10 sessions and the testimonies of 18 witnesses were heard. The defendants were accused of arresting a citizen without a reason, the use of violence and torture. Said was arrested in July 2010 and died in police custody. His family and activists say he was beaten to death by police. The police force has consistently denied the claim.
