SOUTH SINAI, Egypt : The Sharm el-Sheikh complex housing disgraced former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is now prepared for trial, according to a security source. The source said the complex is located behind the International Sharm el-Sheikh Hospital – where Mubarak is detained – as it is the securest, most efficient, place for trial. The trial will not be aired, the source added, in order to protect Egyptian national security secrets the toppled president might reveal. The former president might also leak information linked to certain people – putting them at risk – or attempt to sour diplomatic relations with other countries with loose-lipped testimony, the source continued. Police and military forces, in tandem with Mubarak's personal security, are administering security measures. The hospital is secured, too, the source said. The transportation method by which Mubarak will be transferred to trial has not yet been chosen; in addition, a wheelchair will be provided, if needed, particularly in light of the recent reports claiming that the ousted leader fell into a coma. Mubarak's trial – primarily over the killing of January 25 Revolution protestors, money laundering and profiteering – will be held on August 3. The complex will officially be inaugurated before the trial, according to judiciary sources.
