CAIRO: The likely Egyptian presidential candidate, Abdel-Moneim Abu el-Fetouh, called on people to participate in the upcoming demonstration to be held on July 29 that is titled 'The Friday of national accord.' He added that the revolution suffers from the most dangerous bumps that threaten its achievements. Abu el-Fetouh called on all political, Islamic, liberal, and left wing groups to put an end to all the differences that divide them. The presidential candidate noted in a statement that the slow pace is deliberate with regards to change and reform. He said it is especially slow in removing all the corrupted figures of the former regime and in changing all the policies that triggered the revolution in the first place. Abu el-Fetouh condemned the rivalry occurring between different groups for each of their own personal interests. He pointed out that the state of chaos is caused by the slow pace of the ruling military council. This is why the sits-ins and protests have been renewed by the families and youth of the January 25 Revolution youth who demand real and tangible change, he added. Abu-el Fetouh mentioned that he is not against peaceful demonstrations and does not think they hinder the interests of the citizens.
