CAIRO: Youm7 obtained the details of the meeting between the Egyptian presidential candidates and Egypt's ruling military council. All the candidates announced their refusal to the results of the meeting between Egyptian Chief of Staff Sami Anan, members of the military council and the political parties. The candidates said they will respond to the military council's meeting in a statement. They also called upon the military council to conclude the presidential elections as fast as possible after the elections of People's Assembly and the Shura Council in November 2012 rather than 2013. The candidates who attended the meeting include former Arab League Secretary-General, Amr Moussa,; Islamic scholar Hazem Salah Abu Ismail; former member of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), Abdel Moneim Aboul Fetouh; and founder of Al-Karama Party Hamdeen Sabbahi. Former IAEA General Secretary, Mohammad el-Baradei, did not attend the meeting. The 150-minute long meeting tackled the candidates' unified demands and the military council's decisions of canceling the Emergency Law, activating the Law of Perfidy and the characteristics of the upcoming period in Egypt. El-Baradei's absence for the second time was due to a difference between him and the other candidates in their point of views about administration of the current transitional phase, especially on the issue of passing the constitution first. Aboul Fetouh call again to not expand the transitional period, which could lead to twisting the revolutionary demands, especially amid the current economic crisis. He highlighted the necessity of transferring authority and power to an elected civilian government next February.
