CAIRO: The ‘Copts with No Boundaries' movement issued a statement expressing its refusal of forcing Egypt's Coptic Christian Church to violate the legislation of the Bible by Christians who are demanding the church allow divorce and remarriage. The movement demanded in its statement approving the rights of the Coptic Christians of civil marriage to allow each person to choose the suitable way. They said the church cannot force anyone in choosing a certain way, and stressed that the church cannot be forced to change its vision with regards to the Bible's teachings. The statement demanded those people who have been harmed by the laws of the church to adopt the way which they view as the suitable for themselves. It also called those who demand legislating civil marriage to turn to civil institutions and not to the church. The movement also demanded the church to control the problem through dialogue in order to bridge the gap of differences between all sides. Christians comprise about 10 percent of the Egyptian population.
