“The citizens' appreciation for my efforts and their awareness of the burdens and obstacles facing me really give me relief,” said Prime Minister Essam Sharaf after his recovery from an illness. "What concerns me is being sure of your confidence that every decision I make is for Egypt and not just an act of fake heroism … thanks for all those who were concerned for the health of the State," Sharaf said on his official Facebook page. Sharaf's illness and subsequent hospitalization at Dar el-Fouad yesterday coincided with rumors of his resignation. However, he later denied these allegations in the Council of Ministries.
