CAIRO: The Egyptian Ministry of Education decided to increase wages of teachers of disable students by 25 percent, according to the head of public education sector of the Ministry of Education, Reda Mosaad el-Said. The Ministry decided to fully emerge disabled students with the general students with a ratio of one to four between disabled students and able students. The decision also officially includes a rehabilitation of around 50 schools to deal with the disable students. The program started operating in 150 schools. El-Said said the Ministry's decision is a turning point for education to those people with special needs in Egypt. He said the minister will merge disabled students who suffer from simple disabilities, sight, hearing, and movements problems, and those who suffer from autism. El-Said told Youm7 the emerging operation will go under way according to standard preparation of schools with all equipment required for disabled students. Preparations include less steep stairs for physically disabled students and reading rooms with Braille the visually disabled. The Ministry coordinated with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to help Egypt to prepare 50 schools with all required equipment, and to be added to another 150 schools.
