CAIRO: Hazem al-Beblawy was appointed as Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs today. His appointment comes as part of a ministerial reshuffle by Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf. Beblawy said his job is to coordinate all economic issues. He said he shares the vision of the ministries of industry, social justice and international cooperation. Earlier today, former Finance Minister Samir Radwan's resignation was accepted by Sharaf. Radwan was appointed to the position on May 22 during the ministerial reshuffle of former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafik. Radwan was one of a handful of ministers to retain their positions under Sharaf's government.
