CAIRO: Demonstrators in Tahrir Square got divided regarding the statement by Egypt's Ministry of Interior to remove from prison the officers who killed protestors during the January 25 Revolution. The demonstrators said they refused dismissing the officers, and expressed their insistence on having them prosecuted. They demanded from Egypt's judiciary to prosecute all officers who were involved in killing the demonstrators who called for peacefully called for freedom. Demonstrators chanted "Protest, protest until al-Adly's execution," "Officers of the Ministry of Interior are thugs," and "the people's first demand is change and the removal of corruption." Abdel-Moniem Hendy, a member of the revolution youth union, said he welcomed the Ministry's decision and that it was an important step of change. He said that current strikes pressured the officials to take such step. He added that demonstrations will continue until all the demands of the revolution are met. He stressed the necessity of having a civilian appointed in the Ministry of Interior. A demonstrator said the Mogamma building at Tahrir Square was opened so that its closure does not affect the interests of the people.
