CAIRO: Political youth groups and movements have been holding meetings over the last few hours preparing for the demonstrations on July 8. During the meetings, it was agreed to form three committees to raise awareness as well as open seminars in Tahrir Square. The seminars will be with citizens in order to find out their position on the issue of whether the constitution or elections should come first. According to Walid al-Walid Abdul-Raouf, a member of the Youth Movement for Justice and Freedom, the coalition of the youth revolution's second committee will be concerned with security and guarding the square, and will include 8 sets of 5 activists. He also said the activists will print nearly half a million questionnaires to solicit the views of citizens on July 8 on a number of key issues including their opinions on certain policies, the Council of Ministers and the performance of the military. In order to mobilize the masses, youth groups formed working groups that distributed of posters. The Youth Movement for Justice and Freedom will be responsible for distributing 10 thousand posters and 40 thousand statements from the group which were distributed under the slogan of 'the poor first." These groups managed to cover most of the districts in Cairo, including Helwan, Maadi, Dar el-Salaam, Bulaq Dakrur, Faisal and Ain Shams. In the same framework, a number of political activists, artists and public figures recently held a coordination meeting to consolidate efforts and agree on a unified agenda regarding the demonstrations that will take place on July 8. Such efforts were carried out in order to achieve the demands of the revolution. The meeting was attended by journalists including Hamdy Kandil, Hussein Abdel-Razek, Dr. Gamal Zahran, Dr. Abdul Jalil Mustafa, Dr. Abdel-Halim Kandil, Dr. Karima Hefnawi, Ashraf Abdul Ghafoor and Galal Hamdy el-Sharkawy. Kandil suggested for the protests to take place after the Maghrib (sunset) prayer, especially as the month of Ramadan is approaching. He said that this will attract more people to come. He also asked for presidential candidates to stop campaigning and focus instead on the revolution. Journalist Hussein Abdel Razek said that the July 8 demonstration will show everyone that the revolution is continuing until it achieves its demands. The challenge, he added, was to gather all the youth movements and unify their efforts.
