Turkey's Foreign Minister, Ahmed Dawood Oghlu, expressed Turkey's readiness to support Egypt politically and economically in the current transitional stage. He emphasized Turkey's desire to strengthen cooperative relations. "We need to achieve real democracy in Egypt to pave the way to formulate a new culture in the region," he told TV program ‘Good Morning, Egypt' after saying Egypt is the cornerstone of the region. He added the objective of his visit is to support Egyptian-Turkish relations and to prepare for the visit of the Turkish Prime Minister, Ragab Tayeb Erdogan, on July 21. He carried a message to Egypt's Prime Minister, Essam Sharaf, to express his support for Egypt in the current stage. Oghlu believes achieving democracy will push people to develop the economy and consequently questioning their rulers. Turkish top diplomat said Turkey managed to achieve a 11 percent growth rate early 2011. He said Turkey achieved the highest growth rate in the world in the recent period. He expressed Turkey's ambition to be a main economic power in 2023.
