CAIRO: Thirty people were injured as a result of clashes between Egypt's Central Security Forces and demonstrators outside the Council of Ministers, the state television building and Cairo's now-iconic Tahrir Square early this morning. Security sources said they used six armored vehicles to reinforce security forces on the scene and to break up the protesters, which forced the protesters to retreat in the direction of the Egyptian Museum, which lies at the edge of Tahrir Square. The demonstrators said security forces began to shoot at people and throw tear gas, and that many demonstrators were badly wounded. Demonstrators established a medical clinic to aid the injured protesters with the help of volunteer doctors. Protesters refused to deliver the wounded to hospitals via ambulance because they were worried ambulances would be stopped by security forces. Witnesses said more than 1,500 protesters went to Tahrir Square to face the security forces.
