Qatar's Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani will visit Cairo on Thursday to discuss recent developments in the Arab arena with Egyptian officials and Egyptian-Qatari relations. The meetings will discuss ways to support the Egyptian-Qatari partnership by establishing common economic projects aimed at supporting the Egyptian economy, and increasing economic and political cooperation. Increasing Qatari investments in Egypt will be the priority of the talks. Qatar has announced a 10 billion dollar investment in Egypt. Sheikh Tamim is the second high-profile Qatari official to visit Egypt, after the Qatari Prince on May 3. The prince met with Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, the leader of Egypt's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF). It is important to mention that Egyptian-Qatari relations have notably improved since the January 25 Revolution. Coordination between the two countries on Arab issues has increased, especially on the Palestinian cause and the Darfur issue.
