A mixed cast of Egyptian and American actors will present the play 'An Arab in my Mirror' at Rawabet Space next week. The play, written by Riad Sahmi and Philippe Vincent, looks at the relationships, sometimes of attraction , sometimes of repulsion, of the love and hate which bind the West to the so-called "Arab world." As the show's publicity says, "Here, it is less the answer we are interested in, than the multitude of sensations, of points of view, less the answer, if there is one, than history on an intimate level." Originally written in French, the Arabic translation was by Nabil Gahmi and English translation by Bob Lipman. The show is directed by Philippe Vincent and Florence Girardo, and will feature Anne Ferret, Riad Gahmi, Solafa Ghanem, and Ava Jenkins. The show will be performed on Sunday and Monday, 26, 27 of June, at 8:30pm at Rawabet Space for Performing Arts, located at 3 Hussein el Me'mar St, off Mahmoud Bassiouni St and beside Townhouse Gallery, in downtown Cairo.
