Egyptian engineer and spy Sayed Saber, in Tora prison serving a 25 year sentence for giving valuable information on Egyptian atomic energy to Israel, said in a call with Youm7 that he has petitioned Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) Hussein Tantawi and Attorney General Abdel Majid to be released or retried with a fair trial. He said the former regime fabricated his case to claim fake heroic actions. Saber added that his colleagues at the Atomic Energy Commission called him after the January 25 Revolution and expressed their willingness to testify that the information he released were not confidential, and don't threaten Egyptian national security. Saber said that he didn't try to escape like others because he was scared he would be killed by the security forces. He also said that his lawyer will file an appeal with the Court of Cassation. Saber said that he is following what is happing in Egyptian streets, and if he is released he will run for the presidency. He has a program to develop Egypt and help it become part of the Group of Eight within 20 years, or one of the top twenty industrial countries within 10 years. He says he can also solve the Palestinian dilemma by establishing a Palestinian state in exchange for naturalizing relations with Israel. Speaking of Mubarak's fall, he said sarcastically "Mubarak blundered when he put me in jail. Had he pardoned me, I'd have given him my electoral program, and he and his sons would have stayed in power. But, it's my luck and the Egyptian people's luck." Sayed Saber was caught in 2007 because he was accused of giving information to Israel. He was also involved in spying with two other persons, one Irish, and one Japanese.
