CAIRO: The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) Guidance bureau announced the state of emergency as MB youth formed a new political party to compete with the MB's Freedom and Justice Party. The Bureau members immediately held evening a meeting on Wednesday to discuss this crisis. The MB youth announced a party called Egyptian Trend on Tuesday. However, the meeting witnessed a division among MB leaders. Some MB members called to investigate the founders of the Egyptian Trend Party since they disobeyed the MB's internal regulation. The MB youth disobeyed the brotherhood when they decided to participate in the Second Friday of Anger Demonstration in Tahrir Square that took place on May 27 despite of the opposition of the MB. Meanwhile, other MB leaders called to hold discussions with the MB youth to listen to their political and intellectual ideologies. Reports of the discussions will be transferred to the MB general guide, Mohamad Badei. From the freedom aspect, a third group of MB leaders believe freedom should be granted to the MB youth to join any party since the youth's joining to any party serves the interest of the brotherhood. MB leaders also discussed several issues, including the response to dismiss presidential nominee, Abdel Moneim Aboul Fetouh, from the MB and the media report that U.S. New York Times newspaper published about the division inside the MB. Several activists on Facebook and Twitter welcome the Egyptian Trend Party. Activists suggested new slogans like, "No old leaders of Muslim Brotherhood." On his part, the deputy chairman of Centrist Party and former MB member, Essam Sultan, described the formation of the Egyptian Trend Party is a good step and turning point in the MB's history. He added this act is warning for MB leaders to start considering the MB youth's demands. Sultan encourages the youth to establish their new party or join other already existing parties. In related news, electioneerer of Aboul Fetouh's presidential campaign, Bassam Qotb, told Youm7 the MB decided to freeze the membership of Aboul Fetouh supporters.
