CAIRO: Egypt's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), currently charged with the country's administration, is conducting an opinion poll on its Facebook page about the nominees for upcoming presidential elections. The military council said the candidates are public figures who have announced their intentions to run for president or have been chosen by the people and media. The council added that the name of any figure who withdraws from the presidential race will be removed from the poll list and, similarly, any new nominee's name will be added to the list. The poll is not related to the results of the upcoming presidential election. The president will be chosen by popular vote. The poll will be conducted for a month starting June 19, 2011.
