CAIRO: Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Samir el-Sayyed discussed Egyptian - Belarusian relations with Belarus' Ambassador, Igor Fissenko. They discussed increasing bilateral trading and investments. They confronted establishing a free trading zone between Egypt and Belarus which would include Russia and Kazakhstan. El-Sayyed added that Egypt is seeking depth and widening industry and trade between Egypt and Belarus during next period, to establish a free trading zone. He said there are great chances to increase joint projects. El-Sayyed said it is significant to get benefits form Belarus since it is an industrial state and they have experience in modern technology. On his part, Belarusian Ambassador Fissenko expressed his country's eagerness to establish joint industrial projects in Egypt especially with motorcars and agricultural equipment. Fissenko suggested to el-Sayyed to chair a delegation and visiting Belarus to continue joint trade committee meetings to discuss means of cooperation between both countries. Fissenko added Belarus welcomes Egyptian investments, especially in the wood and furniture industry, since Belarus has a great area of woods and in the potassium chloride industry. Regarding the Egyptian status quo, Fissenko said the Egyptian government exerts great effort into improving the political, economic, and social situation. He added Egypt is better than other states such as the Russian Federation after it was dissolved.
