Three Palestinians and one Egyptian were arrested today by Egyptian security forces after they stormed their apartment and found large amounts of arms and munitions, said Saleh al-Masry, an official in North Sinai's department of security. Al-Masry said that security campaigns were conducted in coordination with the army to confront the arms dealers. Their apartment in Arish was then stormed so they could be arrested. The police managed to arrest 30 people in five other campaigns, al-Masry added. A security source revealed that a police force with central security cars and armored vehicles headed by Ali abu-Zaid, the manger of Criminal Investigation, stormed an apartment and found large quantities of arms, munitions and heroin. The source said the police managed to arrest the Egyptian citizen Ahmed Samir Mohamed (33 years), along with three Palestinians who infiltrated Egypt through tunnels. These included Ahmed Raheel Mahmoud (33 years), Khaled Ibrahim Alhom (33 years), and Yasser Ibrahim Khalil. The security source showed that the Palestinians testified entering Egypt through tunnels, and that they lived in the apartment rented by Mohamed. They, however, refused to reveal their customers in Arish.
