Three men accused of illegally possessing an antique statue were detained by the head of the public prosecution office in Haram, the neighborhood next to Egypt's famous Giza pyramids. They were arrested on the road to Marioutia. The defendants denied the charges against them and denied the statue was an antiquity. The prosecutor's office assigned experts to determine the chronological age and historical origin of the statue to speed up investigations. First Lieutenant Ahmed Reda Shehata arrested the defendants after his suspicion of a car speeding near Mariouta which refused to stop. There was a car chase that ended with the capture of the driver and two other men in the car. Arabic here
