FAYOUM, Egypt: Hundreds of residents of Talat village in Fayoum gathered on Wednesday night, accusing a policeman of killing a student. The residents were very angry and army forces stepped in to secure the police station. The victim was Mohammed Mahmoud Abdel Hamid, age 17, who was on his way home with his friend, Mustafa Bilal, age 18, after attending a wedding party. The two boys, who were riding a motorcycle, met four policemen with batons. The boys were worried and did not stop the motorcycle. One of the policemen hit Mustafa on the head, and the motorcycle fell. Another policeman hit Mohammed on the head. He was taken to the hospital, but he died. Youm7 met the victim's father, Mahmoud Ali Abdel Hamid. The father asked for the criminals who killed his favorite son to be punished. Mustafa Belal, the only witness, told the story. He is now in the hospital.
