CAIRO: Coptic Christians held their first mass in the Holy Virgin Church in Imbaba today after being burned during clashes between Muslims and Christians. The Arab Contractors Company handed the church to its priests after they finished renovated it on Saturday. Today's mass lead by priest Matthias was attended by priests from other churches in Imbaba. Different media channels covered the event. The mass was held on the church's second floor. Christians used to hold mass on the church's first floor only but it's very small and to hold the expected large number of worshipper, they also used the second floor. In his sermon, it's expected that Matthias will appreciate the armed forces' efforts and other officials into restoring the church in a little under a month. Clashes erupted in Imbaba a month ago over claims that a Muslim woman was detained in a church in Imbaba.
