QALIOBIYA, Egypt: Thugs opened fire on a reconciliation session of the Egyptian Youth Society in Shubra, in Qaliobyia Governorate. It has been reported that 10 people were injured. Five men, four women and a child were injured and were taken to a hospital. Those responsible for opening fire were arrested. The injured later left the hospital after receiving medical care. The thugs are related to a resident called Gaber, who recently got into a quarrel with another resident called Ahmed for hitting his tuk tuk, a small three-wheeled vehicle. Ahmed did not keep his promise of fixing the tuk tuk, and so a reconciliation session was created. When the issue was almost settled at the session, Gaber's brothers fired on the attendants to scare them. The chairman of Egyptian Youth Society, Osama Abdel-Latif, immediately filed a lawsuit against them.
