AMSTERDAM (AP): Judges in the Netherlands are set to rule on whether to dismiss anti-Islam lawmaker Geert Wilders' hate speech case. Wilders, one of Europe's most influential right-wing politicians, faces charges of inciting hatred against Muslims for remarks including some comparing the Quran to Hitler's "Mein Kampf." His trial was originally seen as pitting his right to freedom of speech against Muslims' right to practice their religion freely. But it has taken odd turns as prosecutors rested their case with the conclusion Wilders should be acquitted. Meanwhile Wilders' defense challenged the court's independence and successfully had a first panel of judges replaced, leading to delays. If judges order the trial to continue Monday, Wilders' formal defense will begin.
