CAIRO: The Freedom and Justice Party is adopting the Muslim Brotherhood's slogan, ‘Islam is the solution.' A leader in the Brotherhood (MB), Sobhy Saleh, said the Party and the MB will be financially and administratively separate and unconnected but both agree on the principle of the universality of Islam. Saleh presented experiences of Islamic rule in Egypt in a public conference held in al-Abassiya, Cairo. According to Saleh, it is proven that Islamic rule is the solution for Egypt compared to the social and economic evidence under Ottoman rule, socialism and during subordination to American policies under the rule of former presidents Anwar Sadat and Hosni Mubarak. Saleh said the MB refuses any principles that deviate from Sharia law. He added, "We don't acknowledge the expressions of liberal Muslim, secular Muslim or leftist Muslim. We only know the Muslim who sees his religion as sufficient." Khaled Badawy, a Brotherhood leader, refused to blame or threaten citizens deteriorating the Egyptian economic after the January 25 Revolution. He said such criticisms are frustrating to Egyptians. He said Egyptians could transcend through the current stage through cooperation between all citizens, regardless of religion or political movement. He said the MB seeks the formation of committees in poor areas to help those who been economically harmed. He said such committees should be launched by local mosques and churches.
