Youm7 readers predicted that Egypt will re-establish its leading role in Africa. After Prime Minister of Egypt Essam Sharaf's visit to Uganda and Ethiopia, 85.43 percent of Youm7 readers voted yes, while 12.99 percent voted no and the remaining voted as not interested. Many Egyptians expressed their optimism about Egypt's relations with other African countries, especially Nile Basin countries. Sharaf's recent visit to Uganda and Ethiopia is viewed as a starting point of new beginnings regarding Egypt's relationship with the continent.
