Arabic: الشبكة العربية لمعلومات حقوق الإنسان Established 2008 The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) is a non-governmental organization promoting freedom of expression in and around the Middle East and North Africa. Based in Cairo, ANHRI collects reports, publications, and statements from over 100 human rights organizations in the region and republishes the documents, in both Arabic and English, through a daily digest on the organization's website. ANHRI works on behalf of detainees jailed for expressing their personal views, specifically through the internet and other mass media outlets. As strong advocates against censorship in Arab governments, they are members of the International Freedom of Expression Exchange. According to the group's website, it aims to provide a central site with easy to find information regarding human rights in the region while maintaining a focus on critical topics, including minority rights and the death penalty. Its mission includes the creation of a space where these issues can be openly discussed and a community created among those interested in the vital topics at hand. In addition to various blogs, ANHRI launched a legal service website in March 2008 called Qadaya, which provides legal aid and resources to journalists, researches, and activists.
