Egypt claimed an impressive 2-0 friendly win over Qatar, thanks to goals from Al-Sayed Hamdi and Geddo. Making his first international appearance in almost two years, in-form Ahli forward Hamdi opened the scoring after 28 minutes before his club mate Geddo doubled the lead on 66. It was a confident performance from Bob Bradley's men, who continue to prepare for the World Cup qualifiers next March. Ahli teenager Rami Rabiea made his debut for Egypt, playing the full 90 minutes at the heart of defense alongside veteran Wael Gomaa. Full-back Ahmed Shedid was also another notable inclusion when he came on after the break to win his second international cap. Egypt team: Al-Hadari - Abdul-Shafi (Shedid), Gaber, W. Gomaa, Rabiea - Al-Nenni (S. Gomaa), I. Salah, Abou-Treika (Al-Saied), Mekki (Temsah), Geddo (M. Ibrahim), Hamdi (Mohsen). Egypt in control Hamdi - playing for the first time under Bradley - looked determined from the very beginning when he fired Egypt's first endeavor on goal after nine minutes. But the Ahli man didn't miss on his second attempt, slotting home after receiving an incisive pass from Ahmed Mekki. Geddo almost doubled the lead two minutes later but his finesse shot went inches wide of Qassem Borhan's left post. Egypt continued dictating play after the break and Omar Gaber came agonizingly close to scoring his first international goal, only to see his shot hit the post. The second goal was all Ahli thanks to a brilliant assist from Abdullah Al-Saied and a classy finish by Geddo, who showed no nerves to dribble past a defender and slide home with ease. The home side then wasted their best chance of a comeback when forward Khalfan Ibrahim made a dazzling run from his own half, only for Essam Al-Hadari to deny a wonder goal by cleverly blocking the Qatari's attempted chip.
