Ahli are desperate to land Zimbabwe international Edward Sadomba as the search continues for a foreign striker to bolster the team's frontline in the January transfer window. Hilal striker Sadomba, who has just secured the 2012 CAF Confederation Cup Golden Boot, has become a major interest for Ahli following his impressive displays with his Sudanese outfit. His goalscoring prowess and dribbling skills seemed to have caught the eyes of the Ahli management, who have strikers Oussou Konan and Dominique Da Silva as the only two foreigners on board. “We requested the club's board to sign Sadomba, coach Hossam Al-Badri believes we are in dire need for a player like him," football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz told reporters on Wednesday. No Zaki approach In other context, manager Al-Badri vehemently denied reports linking Ahli with Egypt striker Amr Zaki who has been transfer-listed by Turkish side Elazigspor. “These reports are baseless; Ahli did not move for Zaki nor considered signing him at all," Al-Badri said. Ahli boast Egypt internationals Emad Meteb, Geddo, Al-Sayed Hamdi in addition to Konan and Dominique as frontmen on their books.
