Ahli have expressed their dismay at Berekum Chelsea's decision to change the venue of next week's Champions League game from Accra to Kumasi. The Ghanaian club, based in the small region of Brong-Ahafo, were supposed to host Ahli at the Accra Sports Stadium as their home ground can hardly bear 10,000 supporters. However, Chelsea announced on Monday that the match will take place at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi which is less ‘expensive and easier for their fans to travel', according to chief executive Obed Nana Nketiah. Unaware “We will call on CAF after Chelsea had surprised everyone by their decision to move the match to Kumasi," Ahli football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz told the club's website. “They seem totally unaware of the CAF regulations which prohibits any team from moving the match venue 10 days before the fixture. “CAF must intervene to cancel this decision because now we will have to change our travelling date, residence and training ground. “We have already received a confirmation from CAF that the match will be played in Accra."
