Egypt goalkeeper Ahmed Al-Shennawi says he didn't have enough time to impress the Real Betis management during his trial with the Spanish side. Following less than a week in Seville, Al-Shennawi is set to return home as Betis' season ends on Saturday with the final Liga game against Barcelona. The 20-year-old Masri guardian should learn his fate in a few days though, having trained with the Betis B team for most of his time at Manuel Ruiz de Lopera. “It is difficult to assess the level of a goalkeeper in 15 minutes. The short appearance I made with the senior team can hardly reveal my abilities,” Al-Shennawi told FilGoal.com. “Honestly, I hope to join this team but of course the decision is up to the Betis management.” Betis boss Pepe Mel revealed recently that Al Shennawi's future with the club is down to the opinion of Betis B coach Risto Vidakoic. Al-Shennawi is regarded as the potential Egypt number one, having already proven to be a genuine rival to veteran Essam Al-Hadari. The highly-rated keeper is on a five-year contract with Masri.
