Zamalek intend to make a joint request with Cairo rivals Ahli to play their CAF Champions League tie with Maghreb Fes in the presence of their fans, the Whites said on their website. Zamalek host the Confederation Cup holders in the Egyptian capital in a fortnight after taking home a vital 2-0 win from the round of 16 first leg. On the other hand, Ahli will take on Stade Malien in the same stage in mid-May, with the first leg taking place in Bamako on Sunday. Both Cairo games are likely to be staged behind closed doors for security reasons as authorities insist on avoiding fans gathering in football matches since February's Port-Said disaster. However, Zamalek said they are set to ‘coordinate with Cairo Ahli in order to convince security forces to hold the game in the presence of fans'. Zamalek, Ahli and ENPPI have been playing their continental home games behind closed doors in recent weeks, while the Egypt national team have been forced to hold friendlies abroad.
